Gnostic meditation and inner practices
Gnostic meditation, in the practical stream, is Raja Yoga — Ashtanga, eight sequential limbs — training to see thought, feeling, and inner states as they are. It is not a branded relaxation product. The methods live on Glorian and Chicago Gnosis; we only point.
The path to walk
If you want one map from a first sitting toward samadhi as orientation, use the Raja Yoga meditation path. It breaks down each limb (Sanskrit and English), says what to practice at that stage, and credits Glorian’s ordered video series as the spine. Watch in order. Do not skip ahead. If the first two limbs already feel huge, start at Yama and Niyama for beginners. If you lose focus after one breath, start at first concentration. Those tracks are doors, not a skip. When you sit, the meditation timer ends with a soft chime so you aren’t yanked out of the sit.
Start at Glorian — Steps One and Two (Yama and Niyama) (opens in a new tab) , or open the full eight-step playlist (opens in a new tab) . Concentration levels (wild mind through restrained mind) and the two practices from that lecture are on the same path page, under limb 6. We do not republish the exercises.
A parallel course, not a shortcut, is Glorian’s Meditation Essentials (opens in a new tab) — start at lesson one. Spoken support sittings (relaxation, candle, retrospection) are Chicago Gnosis guided practices (opens in a new tab) . Those pages belong to them. Read them there.
What meditation means here
Sit at the same hour for a week. Write what you observed, not what you hoped. If the mind is loud, that is data — often the first concentration stage, not a reason to collect techniques. A useful daytime companion is self-observation: watching the “I” while you walk, speak, and react. Ethics (yama and niyama) is the floor; later limbs assume you did not skip it.
The practice rooms
Meditation is one door. The Map of the Work is the curriculum spine. The practices hub keeps the companion rooms beside meditation so you do not have to invent a homemade manual.
- Runes — Posture, breath, and prayer as attention in the body — not Northern costume. Ice is Fah for several days.
- Breathing — Conscious breath as a daily door. Ice is the glossary, then one sitting — not gym breathwork.
- Meditation — Raja Yoga (Ashtanga): eight sequential limbs from ethics to samadhi.
- Mantras — Sacred sound as a steady object of attention — one mantra, not a catalogue.
- Astral / dream yoga — Sleep, a notebook, then keys — dream yoga as a walked path, not cinema.
- Inner work — Self-observation and the dissolution of mechanical habits — a walked path, not a stack.
- Home cleansing — Hygiene of the dwelling — physical order, then incense, then prayer outbound.
- Diet — Notice meals, then one credited chapter. Diversified food — not kitchen religion, not a clinic.
- Rituals — An ordered sacred act, not cosplay. Ice is the Microcosmic Star as a sealing gesture — not a conjuration dump.
- Prayers — Devotion and listening, then one short daily sitting. Not a reprinted prayer book, not a mantra catalog.
- Astrology — Influences as a map, not a fortune. Ice is the glossary and hub — not a natal-chart product.
- Hermeticism — Labels first, not a Kybalion clone. Ice is the Alchemy glossary and one credited page — not a home lab.
Breathing ice is Glorian’s short definition of pranayama, then one quiet sitting — not gym breathwork, and not the Yellow Book on day one. The method lives on Breathing. Runes ice is one rune — Fah — for several days: posture, breath, and prayer as attention in the body, not a costume of Northern chic. The method lives on Runes. Astral study is easy to sensationalize. The walked path on Astral / dream yoga asks you to sleep earlier and remember fragments before any projection key — not to chase cinema. If you arrived because you cannot sleep, start in plain English on I want to sleep better — rest first, then that path after a week. Home cleansing is the hygiene of the dwelling — trash, dishes, outdoor shoes, then incense if the household can breathe it — on Home cleansing. Diet ice is noticing what you already eat, then one credited chapter — diversified food, not a kitchen religion, and not a clinic — on Diet. Rituals ice is one sealing gesture — the Microcosmic Star — then rest, not a conjuration dump: Rituals. Prayers ice is one short sitting of devotion and listening, not a reprinted prayer book: Prayers. Astrology ice is noticing the language you already use, then one glossary and hub — a map of influences, not a fortune: Astrology. Hermeticism ice is noticing the words you already hear, then one glossary and one credited page — labels first, not a Kybalion clone: Hermeticism. Inner work watches mechanical habits; it is not a clinic. If that last sentence is why you arrived, use I want to change, the inner-work guide, the walked path at inner work, and the disclaimer before you pick a lecture.
A first sitting
You do not need every room on day one. After Start here and a look at who is speaking, take limb 1 of the Raja Yoga path and one quiet room. The collection can filter to meditation or breathing when you want another credited URL — not a second method in the same hour.
The daily readings sometimes land on a practice day. That is a prompt to sit, not a streak. How those days are chosen is on about the year cycle.
When you are ready
The meditation pillar is the eight-limb map, with doors for overwhelmed beginners and for people who cannot sit one minute yet.
