Inner work
Pornography, lust, and spiritual practice
This school treats pornography as fuel for the lust-ego and for mental images that crowd meditation. Glorian writes that those who sincerely want upright spiritual development must abandon pornography 100%. That is tradition teaching — credited, not converted into a medical promise that First Order Gnosis clinically cures every person. If you searched how porn affects spirituality, or lust ego, the honest first sentence is: here, porn feeds a mechanical “I,” and that “I” makes sitting still almost impossible until you stop feeding it.
If you want to stop — use the door
You do not need the word Gnosis first. The help path I want to stop watching porn starts in ordinary language (cue, craving, images), gives a clear action path toward ending porn watching and masturbation — not a day calendar — then opens the credited Glorian and Chicago Gnosis stacks. Use that path if you arrived with a habit. This page is the curriculum map behind it: what the school is saying, in what order to read, and when to stop.
The complete spiritual path (not a clinical guarantee)
What a “complete solution” means here is the ordered work this school actually teaches, with care routing intact. It is not a 100% medical success rate.
- 0 — Care if the body or the law is the emergency. Clinician, recovery program, emergency services, or legal help first when dependence, crisis, minors, or illegal content are in the picture. The spiritual map waits. It does not compete.
- 1 — Stop watching porn, stop masturbating to lust, stop feeding images. Close the booth. Do not use orgasm as the off-switch. Cue, delay, environment, notebook. Glorian’s article asks those who want upright spiritual development to abandon pornography completely. That is the tradition’s demand on the path — credited, not converted into a medical guarantee that every person will.
- 2 — Observe the lust-I without acting it out. Many I’s. The lust-I is one of them. Self-observation in the day; a sentence in a notebook. Naming without opening porn and without masturbating. Not a fight with every memory. Not a humiliation contest.
- 3 — Ethics (brahmacharya / yama). Restraint as daily self-work. Porn, fantasy, using people as images, orgasm as lust-release. This site’s yama-niyama track. Glorian’s brahmacharya glossary. Ten non-virtuous actions for sexual misconduct as adultery of the mind. Not yet sexual magic.
- 4 — Meditation and comprehension. Sit until you comprehend the I, not argue with it. First concentration if images scatter you. Meditation Essentials on the archive. Glorian says meditation is how this school works on the roots. We report that. We do not turn it into a FOG clinical cure.
- 5 — Later chastity teachings. Perfect Matrimony, Yellow Book, transmutation, tantra/maithuna, ojas — outbound, later, on Map and books. Beginners who are still watching porn or masturbating to lust do not need a couple’s rite. The Incredible Power of Chastity has no live free book page; we do not send you to the shop and we do not invent a URL.
What this tradition is saying
Practical Gnosis (Samael Aun Weor as taught by Glorian and Chicago Gnosis) names lust as one of the many “I’s.” Pornography stocks the mind with images; those images return in meditation, in dreams, and in ordinary desire. Intellectual Criminology calls the mental replay of pornographic representations the prostitution of the mind; nocturnal pollutions (wet dreams) are framed as a morbid outcome of that replay — tradition psychology, not a sleep clinic. The Ten Non-virtuous Actions chapter treats looking with lust as sexual misconduct / adultery of the heart. The work is to stop feeding the image, then to comprehend the lust-ego in meditation — not to shame yourself in a loop. Shame is another “I.” It does not dissolve lust.
Glorian’s primary public article is Does pornography affect spirituality? (opens in a new tab) . It also says the only way to definitively conquer lust and addiction to porn is through meditation. That is their method claim. We report it. We do not turn it into a FOG clinical outcome. A chapter on rejecting pornographic mental images is The Guardian of the Mind (opens in a new tab) . Those pages belong to Glorian. We do not reprint them.
Start here, then stop collecting tabs
One article, one glossary, one chapter on commanding the image. Then close the tabs. Care stays first if dependence, crisis, minors, or illegal content are in the picture. The door is abandonment of porn, masturbation-as-lust-release, and lust images — not a calendar. The handheld door is I want to stop watching porn.
- I want to stop watching porn — Action path: stop opening porn, do not masturbate to release the urge, delay, observe, sit, ethics. The door — not a second homepage.
- Does pornography affect spirituality? (opens in a new tab) — Covers: porn as slavery to lust; mental images; adultery/fornication of the heart; upright spiritual development asks for 100% abandonment of pornography. Their teaching. One article.
- Lust (glossary) (opens in a new tab) — Covers: lust as a psychological element. Short. Read before treating “lust” as your whole name.
- The Guardian of the Mind (opens in a new tab) — Covers: a pornographic image hits the senses; the mind answers with passion; commanding that reaction. Igneous Rose chapter.
