I want to change
I want to sleep better
You want to sleep better. Maybe the mind will not shut up. Maybe you wake empty of dreams, or full of them and tired. In ordinary language: the day did not end, so the night cannot begin. This page leads with rest — a wind-down, a phone out of the bed, one honest sentence, one fragment in the morning. A Gnostic school later calls sleep a field of work, and dream yoga a discipline. You do not have to believe that on night one. You do have to sleep.
A first week in ordinary language
Tiny steps a regular person can do. No esoteric terms required. No contest of visions. If your body needs a doctor, that conversation comes before this list.
-
Day 1 — Fix a wind-down
Pick a time the day actually ends. Dim the room. Same hour if you can. A wind-down is not holiness. It is making the next hour quieter.
-
Day 2 — Phone out of the bed
Charge it in another room, or far enough that the hand cannot reach it half-asleep. A smaller cue. Not a new identity.
-
Day 3 — One sentence on the last mood before sleep
Angry, lonely, wired, fine. One line. You are not interpreting the night. You are noticing what you carried into it.
-
Day 4 — Upon waking, write one dream fragment
No hunt for symbols. No complete story required. A hallway, a face, a feeling — that is enough. If nothing remains, write “nothing.” Honesty is the practice.
-
Day 5 — One sober morning sit
Five minutes after you are up. Chair. Breath is enough. When the mind offers last night as a movie, notice the offer. Do not chase it.
-
Day 6 — Optional: one Dream Yoga hub page
If you still want this tradition’s own doorway, open Glorian’s Dream Yoga book hub — linked below. One orientation page. Then close it. Do not stack projection techniques on a tired night.
-
Day 7 — Rest
No scoreboard of lucidity. If the week was messy, that is data. Tiredness is a stop sign, not a reason to try harder. Shame does not help sleep.
For Day 4, a private dream-fragment pad stays on this device. Rest first. It is not sleep medicine.
Going deeper into Gnostic work
In practical Gnosis, sleep is a field of work. Dream yoga and astral projection are later keys — ways of remembering, then (much later) of working while the body sleeps. They are not a cinema and not a first-night stunt. The early work is rest, a notebook, and retrospection: looking back at the night without hunting meaning. Imagination can be trained; visions are not chased. After a quiet first week, this site’s Astral / dream yoga page is a walked path: sleep hygiene, a notebook, Glorian’s discipline and awakening chapters, then keys. If the bedroom itself is a dump — trash, dishes in the room, outdoor dirt — the quieter door is Home cleansing: one room, then incense only if the household can breathe it. That is spiritual psychology. It is not sleep medicine. If apnea, trauma nightmares, or medication issues are present, a clinician comes first. The pages below belong to Glorian and Chicago Gnosis. Courses, when we name them, live on archive.glorian.org. We do not send you to shop.glorian.org. We do not reprint the books.

Ethics as the floor of later dream work. A quieter day makes a quieter night.

Meditation Essentials (opens in a new tab)
Sit to comprehend, not to manufacture visions. Start at lesson one on the archive.

Chicago’s course doorway for dreams and travel. Orientation — not a first-night projection drill.
-
How to lucid dream (opens in a new tab)

-
Astral projection (Mystery of the Golden Flower) (opens in a new tab)
Alternate later chapter with a mantric key. One doorway, not a stack for one night.
-
Astral projection in the collection
Labeled card for the Dream Yoga projection chapter. After rest, not instead of it.
-
Chicago Gnosis podcast (opens in a new tab)
Lectures that include dreams and astral work among other topics. Listen while walking if sitting is stale — then write what you actually heard.
What this site will not do
- No shame spiral. Observation is the method. Humiliation is not.
- No fake medical claims. We do not diagnose, detox, or cure. We do not replace recovery programs. We do not claim a 100% clinical success rate.
- No streaks or badges. Miss a day, write it, continue. There is no chain to break.
- No republishing books. Chapters and lectures stay with their publishers.
When you are ready
Three small rooms, in this order: a practice, today’s reading, then one lecture. Stopping after the first is still enough. The rest of the map will still be here.
